Gazprom sees Stockholm court decision on Kiev dispute by Dec

MOSCOW, Nov 9 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom expects that the Stockholm Arbitration Court will make a decision on the company’s mutual claims with Ukraine’s Naftogaz Ukrainy over a gas supply contract no later than in December, Gazprom said in documents for the Eurobond offering seen by PRIME on Thursday.

“The final decision should be made no later than in December 2017,” the report said.

A decision on a gas transit dispute is expected no later than in February 2018.

Gazprom and Naftogaz Ukrainy have been litigating since 2014 over contracts on gas supplies to Ukraine and gas transit across Ukraine. The preliminary ruling of the Stockholm court on the gas supply contract was made on May 31, its details were not disclosed. Ukraine said that the court in its interim decision cancelled a take-or-pay condition of the contract, allowed Kiev to re-export gas, and ordered a revision of the gas price retroactively from 2014.

In late June, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said the company will contest the court’s interim decision.
